Due to reader request

An overseer at a Manhattan boiler room asks that more attention be paid to articles published by the New York Times such as the one describing a proposed ballot measure put forward by the Presidential Memorial Commission of San Francisco to change the name of the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant to the George W. Bush Sewage Treatment Plant effective Jan. 20, 2008.

  1. For those who don't read the article and are not familiar, Oceanside will be the first water treatment plant that will process reclaimed water to be drinking water, a process that has highly unfortunately been dubbed "toilet-to-tap." For those who are sensitive to the growing scarcity of water resources, this is a tremendous victory. Even still, to name the first such plant after George W. Bush reminds this reader of a certain now-unprintable Senator's similarly sullied name.

  2. Had I realized the level of accomplishment this facility represents, I'd never have supported naming it after such an un-accomplished figure.

Even still, if there were an ActBlue page for this ballot measure, tons of money would get raised.
