Reckoning the Kodak Theater seats 3,401 people, and everyone at the Oscars paid on average $350 for shoes not returned for credit or other consideration, rounds up to $1.2 million. Just imagine what that money could do to benefit three-legged Ethiopian dogs or the displaced pups of Darfur. Presumably later this week they will donate the shoes to charity as Sarah Palin is alleged to have considered doing with her RNC clothes line.
