If some were worrying, they shouldn't be. The Large
Hadron Collider will only run at 3.5 TeV per beam so the operators can gain experience running the machine safely. It will open up a new discovery region for the experiments, of which, admittedly, they've had none since September, but after the gang gets used to it, they'll let the energy rise, shooting for 99.999999 percent of the speed of light, or maybe a little more.
